Welcome to the Gaslamp Quarter

More than just the epicenter of San Diego's nightlfe

Rising from 16 square blocks in downtown San Diego, you’ll find the historic Gaslamp Quarter where Victorian-era buildings and modern highrises stand side by side. The development of the Gaslamp Quarter began in 1867 after real estate developer; Alonzo Horton arrived in San Diego and bought the land in the area for $256. Now this district houses more than 100 of the city's best restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and retails shops, as well as offices and residential/work lofts. The Gaslamp Quarter’s Victorian-era buildings house nightclubs, restaurants, theaters, and shops. A short walk down 4th and 5th avenues will take you to the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.
