The uptown San Diego neighborhood of Bankers Hill gets its name from an early reputation as a place for the affluent to call home. Over the years, it’s balanced that with an influx of quality restaurants, cafes, and bars while converting many of the classic residences into bed and breakfasts and offices. Bankers HIll showcases many Victorian and Craftsman homes, but larger, luxury condomoinum developments are starting to be more common. This neighborhood is a great mix of modern and historical Banker’s Hill, also known as Park West, runs right along Balboa Park’s western side along 6th Ave. It also borders Little Italy to its east and Cortez Hill to its south.
